Site is going to be down for a while, I think. I’ve got to move it to another server soon. There’s a lot going on, and I’m not really updating much, and nobody reads the site, so I doubt anyone will ever notice.
Well, it’s been a while since I posted anything. I tried to get the updater working from my Blackberry, but it didn’t seem to want to work for me. I got my new job, and have been in training for the last week. More training to follow.
Last weekend, we sat around and watched movies, got a bunch of updating of stuff done, cleaned the house, etc. We’re going to spend the weekend watching movies and football again.
We should have stayed in Hawai’i. Everything has been problematic since coming home. My iMac’s keyboard died (due to it’s desire to drink some water) and it was a royal pain to get a new keyboard for it. Nikki destroyed her iBook’s power supply by dropping it off the couch, and then all of a sudden today, the magsafe connector for my Macbook will not charge. I’m not sure if it’s the battery or the connector. I hope it’s the battery so it’s covered by Applecare. I don’t want to spend another $70.
I blew a tire on my car Wednesday night, and tried to get it fixed on Thursday morning. They wanted a few hundred bucks for the tire and their effort. I called around and got a good condition used tire for $40. That’s more my speed. I’d much rather re-use a perfectly good tire with some wear than put a brand new mismatch tire on my car and have it over-correcting whenever i try to steer.
So the new Star Trek was pretty good. There are a lot of lens flare effects though, maybe a few too many. The characters match up well to the original actors, and all the traditions are still intact. Well done.

Twilight is simply the worst movie I can recall ever seeing. The only thing worse than the acting was the writing. I understand that it’s intended to appeal to prepubescant girls with unrequited love issues, but they could have at least put something in the movie to redeem it for all the guys who were dragged to it or forced to see it (as I was.)
Never again. Absolute trash. I’d rather watch Leo use the yard for 2 hours than ever watch that steaming pile ever again.

In the last couple of months, Leo has eaten a few things that baffle the mind.
I don’t know of any other dog who eats all these kinds of things. The amount of chocolate he has survived tells us one of two things. Either the chocolate is of far lower quality than advertised, or some dogs are invincible.
So on the way home from the store, people kept flashing their headlights, and although I had mine on, I figured “well, that’s silly… My car automatically senses when the lights need to be on, so even if they weren’t…”
I have a Pontiac Vibe, and in case it ever happens to you, keep this in mind. The low beams were not working, but the high beams and fog lamps were. I checked and rotated the fuses, so I could tell it wasn’t that. After a few hours of poking around, I decided that it just might be the bulbs. Fortunately, the bulbs are the same as the Protege, and I had saved those when I put the brighter ones in last Spring. Turns out it was just a freak double burn-out.
Now I just need to get some new ones and get them installed since my hands are too big to fit in and change the driver side bulb.
Twitter is a stupid technology, for people who are convinced that everything they do is so important that it must be documented. It is for those so deluded that they think anyone cares what they say/do at any given moment. GM wants to add it to Onstar… there’s a good idea. Because people aren’t busy enough putting on makeup, eating, drinking, talking on phones, playing with internet devices, flipping each other off, and whatnot. I will sooner go back to AT&T than I will ever use twitter.

Oooh I feel like crap. Nikki made me go to Urgent (Urchin) Care. The doctor was telling me, “You have the real flu.” Then I got a a chest X-ray. “ooh, you have a huge pneumonia. I don’t know why I can’t hear it…” Yeah, That sucked.
104 Fevers, shakes and shivers, sick as all get out. But I can go back to the gym and should be better than ever in a week or so.
