Update on the New Kittens

Posted in General Stuff, Pets, restored on June 15th, 2007 by otter – Comments Off

Sissy and Tulip were taken by a very nice older lady, and a couple came for Bear and Jersey. The other four are now with a foster family. We are still seeking good homes for them though. Hopefully they will get socialized and become great pets.

Dish Didn’t Make It.

Dish, who was very sick, did not make it.
I really want to punch everyone who refuses to spay or neuter their pets in the face, very, very hard.

We caught the last one from the last batch, however, we also ended up having 3 more thrust upon us. 2 who are fine (Jersey, who looks like a cow and Sissy, who is grey), and their little sister who we are calling Dish at the moment. Dish is not doing well. She won’t eat or drink, and the only thing that calms her is having a hot water bottle put into her bed with her. We were told that her body temp was dropping today. We tried to bottle feed her, but she’s not having it. Labored breathing… I don’t think she’s going to make it through the night. Anybody help?

This is tapping out my finances entirely. Spay/Neuter is $45 each (thank you discounts), they eat something like $5 per month each in food. Thankfully through a network of helpful people who are each tapped out as well, we got some of them vaccinations. But the spay/neuter and food alone is going to suck up more than my car payment and insurance. For almost 3 months. ($45 each x 16 kittens = $720)

If you feel like donating money through paypal or something, just email or leave me a message.

More kittens… Saving the world, one stray mom at a time.
These ones are heartbreaking. Their mom won’t be captured, and there’s one of them with her. We took in the 5 babies we could catch, but we’re going after the 6th tomorrow. With any luck, I can corner her and grab her.

Finals are going well, and we had Citizen’s Academy graduation tonight. Last finals tomorrow, job interview thursday, ride-along friday. Busy week.

Unexpected Results

So after successfully using the ink refills from the Dollar Tree, I decided to google it to see if anyone else had experienced results with it. The following is a screen cap of what I found. I don’t really know if I should be appalled that they have a web page about it, or impressed that they are so resourceful. Either way, they should go away forever.

Kitten Update

One of the kittens went to his new home last night. It was sad to see the little guy go, but he now lives with 2 little girls who want to spend all of their time with him.

A lady who works with Nikki has picked 2 of them, My brother is taking one, we are taking one, and another has already been reserved. Hopefully by July 1, all of the kittens will have homes. Here are newer pics of both litters.

Yes that’s a pacman joke. So anyway, I got my financial aid package for next year, and it’s all gravy.I’m going to be able to take all the good electives. It does mean that I’ll be taking like 16-18 credits, but it will be worth it.

It’s been incredibly hot out this week, and thankfully it’s going to rain on Monday so it will at least cool it down a tad. I still have a touch of sunburn from LA. I need to take my film in to get developed this week some time. I’m also applying for summer jobs. I was thinking that I’d want something in air conditioning, but I really think that I’d like something that’s moderately physical.

So here’s something everyone needs to know about. If you go to the Dollar Tree, you can get ink refills for a buck. I got one to try it out. It prints very very well, and it wasn’t all that hard to refill, BUT you will get ink all over your hands. So my advice is to get some latex or plastic gloves before you try the refill. Otherwise, it is so worth it.
